I’m reblogging the post “Hanging In There” which I posted on this date (9/12) in 2020. It’s one day past 9/11. I haven’t forgotten that important date in American history. I remember where I was when the news broadcast the attack. In fact, I saw it on the television in one of the lobbies at University of Iowa hospital when I was returning to my office from a consult. I respect the heroes and grieve for those who died and who lost their loved ones.
It put things in perspective when I was feeling sorry for myself back in 2020. I was trying to cope with being newly retired. We were all trying to cope with the Covid pandemic.
Sometimes I’m pessimistic, but I think somewhat less so in the last few years. A sense of humor helps and fosters optimism. After all, what else would you call my post yesterday about trying to learn how to do the fingerless whistle?
