Sena and I played cribbage today and I just want to point out that I got a 28-hand. I would have gotten a 29-hand if my ten of spades card had been the nob Jack, which is the Jack of the same suit as the cut card, worth one point.
The odds of getting a 29 hand are 1 in 216,580. The odds of getting a 28 hand are 1 in 15,028.
And she went on to win that game and won best 2 out of 3, meaning she won 2 consecutive games. So much for my 28-hand. Just because you get a 28 hand or a 29 hand doesn’t mean you’re going to win the game.
The count goes: Fifteens: the 10 with the four 5-cards=8; The 5s=8. The four of a kind of the fives=12. The total is 28 points.
