It’s what you’ve all been waiting for, the 2nd round of the Single Leg Sit to Stand Challenge (SLSTS). Settle down back there in the cheap seats!
This time I got rid of the 4-inch-high chair pad and went with a couple of folded pillowcases. That’s no more than 2 inches high and when squashed by repeated sitting, may be considerably less.
I could do 10 reps each leg with that. But I could do only 3 reps each without any padding at all. That’s odd, because the pillowcases really didn’t amount to much.
On the other hand, you can easily tell when the exercise is not going to plan if you plop. That’s a no-no in SLSTS competitions (at least in Las Vegas) because everyone can tell when you’re letting gravity get the upper hand. You fall back in the chair rather than lower yourself with dignity. It’s all about glute control.
I do OK for an old guy. Here’s a picture of me in Vegas with the rat pack congratulating me on my upset win of the SLSTS back in, let’s see, when was that…?

Sena still thinks this looks like it’s painful. Not a bit! I only blew out my left knee. Come on! Who’s got a story?
