There is a Heat Advisory forecast for much of Eastern Iowa this weekend. Temperatures could be above 100 degrees with the heat index. Plan accordingly and be aware of National Weather Service alerts.

I’ve never heard of the Wet Bulb Globe Temperature. I can see the Heat Risk for my area, which is Moderate right now. It will be Major tomorrow.

I did a post on it last year. I like the fact that there are activity charts with warnings like the one posted for athletic activity. I can recall preseason twice a day football practice in high school in August where we probably should not have been on the field. Good to see that a science has developed around that.
