Sena got me a new pair of Skechers shoes and this time they’re a pair of actual slip-ins, not slip-ons like she bought last spring.

I can actually slip in to them from a standing position. The other Sketchers pairs are the kind you need to sit down and pull on. The back of the slip-in upper is more sloped back compared to the slip-on.

They’re slimmer than my other shoes and I don’t know exactly what the soles are made of because the company makes fancy brand names for the technology involved and for marketing. My web search reveals the usual intrusive AI always at the top of the page. It says the midsoles are made of EVA Foam (Ethylene Vinyl Acetate) for cushioning and shock absorbing qualities. There are proprietary foams for higher end (more expensive) models, which get names like Ultra Go or Hyper Burst or Foot Explosions R-Us.

The outsoles are standard rubber, Goodyear rubber, and plain foam. The inside of the shoe may have memory foam or a thing called Goga Mat imported from an Extraterrestrial company in a distant galaxy. Whatever.

They’re very comfortable walking shoes.
