FDA VRBPAC Meeting on Covid Vaccine for Fall of 2024

The voting question for today’s FDA VRBPAC Meeting on the Covid Vaccine strain for this fall is:

“For the 2024-2025 Formula of COVID-19 vaccines in the U.S., does the
committee recommend a monovalent JN.1-lineage vaccine composition?
Please vote “Yes” or “No” or “Abstain.”

House Finches Moved On

Today was Day 17 for the house finch nest with eggs-which did not hatch. I suspect the female moved on, probably because of too many intrusions. I removed the nest and eggs.

You’d think they’d know better than to build a nest in a fake Christmas tree in the first place.

It has been said:

You cannot keep birds from flying over your head but you can keep them from building a nest in your hair.

Martin Luther

But you can’t keep birds from nesting in your artificial Christmas tree on your front porch.

New Iowa City Public Art Announcement!

There’s a new installment of public art coming soon and the Iowa City Public Art Advisory Committee announcement is just in.

What’s really cool is the new Google map showing where all the public art is located.

The new art showcase is seeking applications from artists for works that will be displayed at 8 community parks for two years now instead of just one (2024-2026). What’s also great is that the artists will get a higher honorarium as well as an opportunity to sell their art.
